“I feel very lucky I get to spend all my time thinking and talking about Medical Affairs”

I have made Medical Affairs my daily activity

In addition to my experience in Medical Affairs since 2002, for the last 5 years, have interacted, trained and worked with a high number of MSLs, Medical Advisors and Medical Affairs Leaders during different trainings, workshops and consultancy trajectories . Interaction with these professionals, discussing ways of working, issues and opinions, has helped me grow from a Medical Affairs Leader to a Medical Affairs Expert who is fully up to speed with the opportunities, changes and challenges of the role and the department.

About me

I am a Medical Doctor based in the Netherlands. More than 20 years ago, I switched from clinical practice to Medical Affairs and never looked back.

In 2017, after having worked in various (leadership) Medical Affairs roles in different companies and countries for 15 years, I decided to concentrate solely on Medical Affairs development and impact and I founded my own training and consultancy company, Medical Affairs Solutions.

In 2019, School of Medical Affairs was founded by me and my training partner Joke van Rijn, combining my Medical Affairs technical knowledge with her vast experience in soft skill and leadership training in pharma. Since we started, we have enabled a large group of Medical Affairs professionals to excel in their roles, via both online and live on location training and coaching.

Since 2017 I have worked with over 600 Medical Affairs Professionals from over 25 pharmaceutical, biotech and device companies.

I have gained extensive experience with building and delivering trainings and presentations, Medical Affairs opportunities and challenges.

I have led numerous brainstorm, training and change management sessions, including omnichannel implementation, building competency matrices, describing MSL value and other topics.

I am a pragmatic person who is always looking for ways to structure and explain things in a simple way. In addition, I rely on my extensive hands-on experience and the things I have learned in discussions along the way. You will see this in my trainings, presentations and consultancy; they are practical, applicable and rooted in real life examples.

I hope to continue to grow, learn and meet new Medical Affairs professionals, and to watch Medical Affairs take on the prominent role it deserves.

Who knows, I may even be able to help this growth along!
