Training and development

“It takes years to build up the experience to perform all the Medical Affairs tactics well, unless they can get a head start by providing them with a solid background and training.”

To enable the Medical Affairs team to work at the high level that is required of them, it is important they are developed, trained, and coached. Both the existing members of the team, as the newly hired young potentials, benefit greatly from specialised skills training aimed specifically at the complex role of MSL, Medical Advisor or Medical Manager.

I will have a discussion with you on your teams needs, after which training proposal will be made. The training will be customized to ensure full alignment with company guidelines, processes and vocabulary.

All my trainings are aimed at increasing knowledge in an empowering manner. The content is both strategic and practical and based on real life examples and cases. By establishing a high level of interaction, I ensure maximum learning opportunities for all levels of experience.

All training can be provided online or live on location.

Topics for training include, but are not limited to:

  • The value and role of Medical Affairs/MSL/MA
  • KOL management and planning
  • Understanding and building a Medical Plan
  • Medical Affairs Tactics
    • Advisory Boards Meetings
    • Scientific discussions
    • Scientific presentations
    • Congresses and Symposia
    • Data Generation
    • other
“Too often, talented young MSLs, who are hired for their deep scientific knowledge, are left to their own devices when starting in the pharmaceutical industry. The right training will set them on a path to success”

Customized in-house training

I provide customized in-house training for teams of MSLs and Medical Advisors on an array of Medical Affairs topics. During the training we discuss the “why” but also the “how” of these different themes, allowing participants to put the learned into practice the next day. There is always a lot of room to discuss questions and case studies, ensuring a very relevant learning experience.

If there is a need for a combination of technical knowledge and soft skill training, I provide that with the School of Medical Affairs, of which I am the co-founder and trainer. In these trainings, we work on both the technical knowledge and the soft skills necessary to successfully fulfil Medical Affairs responsibilities, combining theory and practical exercises.

Public enrolment courses

In collaboration with CELforPharma, I provide public enrolment courses “Business Acumen for Medical Science Liaisons” (two days) and “Strategic KOL planning and engagement” (one day). During these courses, you will meet participants from other companies and countries and learn from both the theory and the discussions and exercises with the group.

The above courses can be offered as in-house trainings via CELforPharma as well.
